Maryland is a state full of history and that was evident as we traveled across it to the eastern shore. We started the day visiting my brother who was very busy with last minute packing of things from his old house and moving them to Kent Island which is also the site of the first English settlement in Maryland .  We were happy to be able to help him for a short time.

On our path we passed near where Harriet Tubman was born and stopped in Salisbury to enjoy the old buildings, especially the court house all light up with holiday decorations.  It was built in 1878 and was one of the few buildings to survive the 1886 fire. Ocean City also had some decorations and we stayed on a street close to the beach hoping to catch the sunrise over the ocean next morning.
